The Nationwide Excessive Velocity Rail Company of India (NHSRCL) on Friday mentioned it has invited bids for 21-km-long tunnel, together with India’s first 7-km-long undersea tunnel, in Maharashtra for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Excessive Velocity Rail Hall.

The bid is for tunneling works utilizing Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) and New Austrian Tunneling Technique (NATM), it mentioned. The tunnel could be between underground station at Bandra-Kurla Complicated (BKC) and Shilphata in Maharashtra.

“The 7-km (approx.) undersea tunnel at Thane Creek could be the primary underneath sea tunnel to return up within the nation. The tunnel could be a single tube tunnel to accommodate twin monitor for both-up and down monitor,” NHSRCL mentioned, including that 39 gear rooms at 37 areas would even be constructed adjoining tunnel location as a part of the package deal.

This tunnel could be about 25 to 65 metre deep from the bottom stage and the deepest development level could be 114 metre under the Parsik hill close to Shilphata.

The NHSRCL had in July this 12 months invited bids for the design and development of an underground station at Mumbai’s BKC. The BKC rail station could be the one underground station within the rail hall mission.
