G7 condemns Russia’s ‘escalatory steps’, plans new sanctions – Times of India


UNITED NATIONS : G7 international ministers have mentioned they may pursue additional sanctions towards Russia, following President Vladimir Putin‘s transfer to mobilize reservists for the battle in Ukraine.
Ministers from the Group of Seven “deplored deliberate Russian escalatory steps, together with the partial mobilization of reservists and irresponsible nuclear rhetoric,” they mentioned in an announcement on Wednesday evening.
The G7 would “pursue additional focused sanctions and are dedicated to sustained financial and political strain on Russia,” they mentioned after a gathering on the fringes of the United Nations Normal Meeting.
